9th July 2020 marks the first graduation of the Safegarding of Minors Course run by the Institute for Pastoral Ministry (IPM) and accredited by the Malta Further & Higher Education Authority. In collaboration with Safeguarding of Minors – Gozo this course about the protection of minors provided the participants with an opportunity to understand better the situation minors face when abused. Abuse is a sad reality in our society as such, the course equipped the participants with skills in order to be able to identify signs of different types of abuse and how to act accordingly. Bishop Mario Grech who presided over a thanksgiving mass, presented the participants with their certificates. Psychologist Fr Joseph Farrugia, the lecturer who runs the course, is also the Director of the IPM and Founder of Safeguarding of Minors – Gozo.
